Mass communications are at the heart of the GroupSpot experience—and one of its most powerful differentiators. Unlike most other platforms, GroupSpot gives admins the flexibility to choose the communication method that best suits the message.
For example, something more immediate might be best served with a push notification. In-app alerts are great for soft reminders. Email is the lowest common denominator, but still effective to get mass reach. And group chat is also a great resource to capture member’s attention.
Thanks to feedback from the community, GroupSpot now gives admins even more control. In addition to messaging the entire group or specific subgroups, admins can now send targeted communications to individual members. Sometimes a message doesn’t need to go to everyone—it’s better suited for just one or a few members.
Here’s how to reach those individual members:
1. From your group menu, tap Communications to access your available list of communications.
2. Choose your communication type: Push Notification, In-App Alert, or Email.
3. Once selected, change the default tab at the top from To: Membership to To: Individuals.
4. Add your Subject and Message. If you’re sending an email, you have the option to add an Attachment.
5. The next step is to Choose Members.
6. This next screen is where you will choose which individuals you want receiving this communication. Check the box to select your target members. For large groups, use the search function at top to help find members in a long list faster.
7. Once your Send to: list is correct up top, tap Done to return to your message screen.
8. If everything is in order, tap SEND to release the push notification, in-app alert, or email you selected.
